 spores and Deinococcus radiodurans cells were found capable of enduring the transport to and extreme conditions of space in recent study from NASA.

From these findings, Dr.Jart+ developed its Solarbiome™ technology utilising these microbes into sun protection. These microbes were tested under space conditions of ultraviolet rays, radiation and temperatures above 100°C, as well as extreme forces related to transport, and survived for more than 100 days. Dr.Jart+ found these cells were effective for sunscreening, to help skin recover from UV damage and for anti-aging benefits.

It applies smoothly and has no stickiness, making it soft and fresh even after use.
It blocks the sun with a high sunscreen index. Containing safflower extract which controls excess sebum production, it is said to help keep the skin soft and fresh even in the summer when the amount of sebum secretion increases.
